18 Common Values

So I completely forgot to blog on Sunday, but I figured better late than never!
Last class we talked about the 18 common values. I really enjoyed how Cody and Lauren lead the discussion. Instead of breaking into groups we each had to thinking about one assigned value. I thought this changed it up a little from how we usually do things.
I also had a lot of fun doing Heath and Allie's activity. I feel it is very important to know how to handle these situations because you never know when you will be a part of one. My group had the alcohol scenario. At first I had no clue how to handle it. I have never been in a situation like this before or heard of someone in a situation like this, so I didn't write much down. After talking it over with my group I kept thinking of more ideas. I feel working as a group we can come up with more ideas. I really enjoyed how Heath and Allie let us set a policy on what we should do in this situation. I feel now I can be a better peer mentor in and outside of the Hixson building.
